Checking Your Resoultions Progress

January has gone by in the blink of an eye! I’m sure you’re already focusing on what to do for Valentine’s day and how you will be spending President’s Day weekend. But I want to remind you to check on the progress you’ve made with your resolutions.

How are your resolutions coming along? Are you cringing when you read this because you’ve already abandoned your resolutions?! It’s not too late to try to make somes changes for the New Year. If you’re having a hard time keeping true to your resolutions try these few steps:

  1. Write Down Your Goals/Resolutions: As I mentioned in my post last week, you’re 80% more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down. So, jot down your 2016 goals on an index card or a sheet of paper.

  2. Get an Accountability Partner: Holding yourself accountable can be difficult when it comes to making life changes. Share your goals with someone else and ask them to check on your progress every now and then to make sure you are still on track. (If you bring your written goals to me, I would love to be your accountability partner! And you’ll also receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a free Fit Bit!)

  3. Break Down Your Goals Into Actionable Steps: If you’re having a hard time sticking to your resolutions, make a list of actionable steps to help you stay on course.

  4. Know Your Limits: You’ve hopefully been working toward your resolutions long enough to know if they were realistic. If you have too lofty of a goal in mind, set up smaller goals to work toward that big goal.

  5. Asses Your Progress and Change Course if Needed: If you have already given up on your resolution, it may not have been something that you wanted badly enough. So, what is something that you want very badly? Think on it and if you need to switch up your resolution and work toward something else, GO FOR IT!

I hope your 2016 has been great so far, and that whatever your goals for the year are you are well on your way to achieving them. If I can be of help at all along the way, I am here for you! How have you stuck to your resolutions in year’s past? Let me know in the comments.
