Healthy Holiday How To's

Hopefully you’ve gotten through Halloween safely and healthfully! Thanksgiving is already right around the corner so I wanted to share some of my favorite healthy holiday recipes with you.

Stuffing

Stuffing is one of the harder holiday staples to pass up but it’s usually loaded with unhealthy foods. I discovered this delicious alternative a couple of years ago and I absolutely love it. It’s a Kale and Butternut Squash Stuffing. This will give you a vegetable serving without losing the stuffing taste that you love so much!

Cranberry Sauce

Put the canned cranberry sauce down! There is so much sugar in canned cranberry sauce and it is super easy to make from scratch. This Cranberry Orange Sauce with Thyme is very simple to make and cuts down on the sugar intake.

Brussel Sprouts

Brussel Sprouts have a bad rap and most people seem to hate them, but they can be absolutely delicious when prepared properly! This Maple Roasted Brussel Sprout recipe has been a big hit in my house for a while now.

From stretch demonstrations to healthy recipes, I’ve been trying to write weekly blog that my patients will find useful. I also want to do things that will help our community which is why we’re doing our annual Food Drive and I’d love for you to spread the word. Here’s what you need to know.

We’ll have SF Marin Food Bank bins in our office during November-December. For every 10 perishable items you bring us you have 2 reward options (at a limit of 3 per patient):

  1. You can refer us a new patient who will receive a free exam (this includes X-Rays if necessary and a Report of Findings)

  2. You can receive a free adjustment for each donation

It’s that simple. If you need a great gift to give someone at a reasonable price, bring us 10 items and you can gift someone a free exam. We’d love to make this Holiday season amazing for everyone in our community, so if you have any healthy holiday recipes to share please let us know in the comments!
