February is Heart Health Month, and I’m sure you’ll be seeing a lot of posts about maintaining a healthy diet and exercise. This is a great way to prevent heart disease, but what most people don’t know is that chiropractic is also an effective treatment to help fight heart disease as well.

I’m not suggesting that you forgo a healthy diet and exercise if you see a chiropractor, but it will definitely help keep your heart healthy. Here are a few ways that chiropractic can help keep your heart healthy.

  • Chiropractic can decrease chest pain: Chest pain is often musculoskeletal in nature which is why chiropractic can help! Chest pain can sometimes come from the heart, but oftentimes an adjustment will help to relieve that pain.

Heart healthy exercise is meant to help keep your heart healthy, but without proper nervous system function, your diet and exercise may not be as beneficial. If you’re out of alignment your heart healthy exercise could actually be putting unnecessary stress on your heart. This is why regular chiropractic adjustments are very important.

Chiropractic care is the perfect complement to a healthy diet and regular exercise routine. You should have your spine adjusted on a regular basis because the nerves don’t just go to the heart, they help regulate every organ in your body!
