Halloween Safety Tips

Halloween is such a great holiday, until the day afterward. Your feet are sore and your  back is stiff, and your kids are likely complaining of a stomach ache from all the candy. But if you go into trick or treating with a plan, you can enjoy the holiday without dreading the consequences!

Besides introducing your kids to the Halloween Fairy, here are my top five suggestions to get you through this Halloween.

  1. Take your kids in for an adjustment before the big day. Trick-or-treating means a LOT of walking for you and for your kids, so make sure you’re all up for it by getting adjusted before the big day.

  2. Feed your kids a high protein dinner before letting them go out trick-or-treating. They will probably be too excited to eat much, but insist that they have something so they won’t fill up entirely on candy.

  3. Pass out healthy treats. Instead of handing out the usual sugar filled treats, try passing out bags of pretzels or nuts, temporary tattoos, plastic Halloween rings, small bottles of water, etc.

  4. Limit the candy. This is where the Halloween Fairy comes in handy, so if you missed my latest video tip check it out here! And make sure your kids know not to have any candy until you’ve inspected it!

  5. Avoid trips and falls by checking your child’s costume. If your kids are wearing a mask of any kind make sure they can see properly so they don’t trip on the sidewalk. Also make sure that no parts of the costume are dragging on the ground as that could lead to a fall.

Parents are always coming up with ways to make any holiday fun, healthy, and safe. What are some of your tricks to keep Halloween an all around treat?
